Great News!

Fate of the Elder Gods, plus the Beasts From Beyond expansion AND the Playmats have all arrived in our warehouse, joining the art prints and art books that arrived last week. That means that shipping will begin shortly, with the first parcels going out tomorrow!

Shipping Plan (For "Elder God" backers in particular!)
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jul 26, 2017 at 12:19:31 AM

Greetings Backers!

Paul here for GTG! Now that we've reached the shipping and logistics part of this campaign, I'm going to be posting updates occasionally to let you know how the process is going. The first piece of good news is that the games are on a train, scheduled to arrive in St. Louis the beginning of next week! There are a bunch of details below, but here is the tl;dr version:

  • 1) Shipping will begin to KS backers the middle of next week.
  • 2) "Elder God" backers are getting 2 copies of the core game.
  • 3) The "Forbidden Lore" books have arrived!

Now, here's a few more details on those three points!

1) Shipping will begin next week!

Given the size of this Kickstarter campaign, shipping will probably take around 2 weeks to complete. All shipping will be complete before Gen Con, which starts on 17 August (but we leave the 14th, so everything will go out by then). For this Kickstarter, we are going to ship Canadian rewards first, followed by US, followed by everyone else.

Based on recent Kickstarter campaigns we have fulfilled, we have learned a few things. First, there is only a 40% chance or so that you'll get a tracking number, even though we are going to tell the FedEx software to send them to everyone. We are not sure why this is true, and neither is FedEx. Second, the non-US orders will take 7-14 days to arrive, depending on all sorts of factors outside our control. Third, some backers in the EU might be charged customs or import taxes. If that happens, just take a photo of the receipt and send me an email at [email protected] with your PayPal email address, and I'll send you a refund right away. No one in Canada or Australia is in any danger of having customs charges in our experience.

2) "Elder God" backers are getting 2 copies of the core game.

Now for the long story to explain what is going on! As I am sure you are aware, all 96 "Elder God" backers need to receive signed copies of the core game and signed art prints. Nolan is going to be in town the second week of August to sign art prints, but unfortunately, because we are so close to Gen Con, we are not going to have time to get Richard, Darrell, and Chris all in the same place to sign them before the show.

Our solution to this is that we are going to send all "Elder God" backers two copies of the base game. The first, unsigned copy of the game will go out with the rest of your rewards the week before Gen Con. The second, signed copy will be sent out *after* Gen Con, so that Richard, Darrell, and Chris have a chance to sign it at the show.

This is our default plan for all "Elder God" backers. However, if you email me at [email protected] in the next week, you could switch your reward delivery to one of two other options:

a) Pick up all rewards at Gen Con. You will still get two copies of the base game, but you'll get them from our Gen Con demo room, #134 in the Indianapolis Convention Center, some time the 17-20 of August. Note: This option is only available to "Elder God" backers!

b) Forgo signing for early delivery. You will still get two copies of the base game, but both will be unsigned. You will also get unsigned art prints. We will ship these first, before we ship any other backer rewards. Otherwise, "Elder God" rewards will ship toward the end of shipping, once Nolan has a chance to sign your art prints.

To select either of these two options, please send me an email at [email protected]!

3) "Forbidden Lore"

Wow did these books turn out well! We just got the shipment into the warehouse yesterday, and they are glorious. I've taken some photos with my cell phone camera, which don't do them justice by a long shot (notably, you can't see the spot foil on the cover), but they'll give you some idea.

Update your BackerKit now!
almost 7 years ago – Thu, Jul 06, 2017 at 05:50:25 PM

Hey, everyone!

I know what you're thinking. "Two updates in one week? What gives?"

Well, this one is super important! We're going to be locking down the BackerKit a week from tomorrow (also known as July 14th, 2017). That means all addresses in their must be final.

Here's the link to BackerKit, if you've misplaced the email that was sent to you a long time ago.

Let me say this again. You have until July 14th to update your shipping address in BackerKit. Go here and do it.

After we lock down addresses next week, we will not be able to change where your package is going.

We are expecting at this time to be shipping in the first two weeks of August, so use whatever address will be accessible to you at that time. We will not be able to hold or redirect packages.

It's so close I can taste it! And, given that it's pretty Lovecraftian, it tastes a little slimy. But slimy and exciting!

Greetings Lovecraft lovers!

It's time for an update, and it's a good one - Fate of the Elder Gods is on a boat! Last week we received confirmation that all containers with the games had been loaded onto the freighter YM Mobility, and the ship set sail yesterday for Los Angeles.

Here's what the ship looks like. It's kind of a spooky pic. Very appropriate.

Here's where the YM Mobility was located as of this morning. You can track the ship over here if you'd like. Just search for the ship name and you can get a route tracker!

Thankfully, the ship's route will take it nowhere near R'lyeh. I can't say the same for that one green boat down there at the bottom of the world. Or maybe that crew wants to sail for R'lyeh...

At any rate, the scheduled arrival time for the ship is July 17, with delivery to our warehouse around July 24. As soon as we have the games in hand we'll post an update. In the meantime, if you need to update your shipping address, head on over to BackerKit.

We've Got Game

As a little bonus for this update, Chris and Darrell recorded a 3-player playthrough of Fate of the Elder Gods with the Beasts from Beyond expansion during a recent production retreat in Dover, Delaware. The video will show you some fun strategies, as well as all the final, beautiful bits you'll all be receiving soon! If you have any questions about the video, just let us know in the comments.

That's about it for this update. Happy Independence Day to those in the U.S., and to everyone until next time - happy gaming!

The Ritual Is Complete!

Greetings Lovecraft lovers!

It's time for our regular check-in, and we've got awesome stuff to show and tell! Last week we received the Mass Production Copy (MPC) of Fate of the Elder Gods and the Beasts from Beyond expansion. As mentioned before, the MPC is basically a copy of the game as it will arrive to all of you and in retail. Everything looks great and is in order, so the rest of the game is currently being wrapped up, packaged, and ready for loading onto a boat!

Here's an unwrapping video for all of you to check out!

And, as mentioned in the video, here are a few pics of the washed minis for you to peruse.

For the Sleevers

We'll give it to you - you're certainly a tenacious bunch. So here are some photos that show how sleeved cards will fit.

For the record, to sleeve all the cards in the big box, expansion, and the promo cards you'll need 127 Mini Euro sleeves, 31 Tarot sleeves, and 20 Square sleeves.

That wraps it up for this update! We'll be sure to check back in once all the games have been loaded onto the boat for shipping to our warehouse. In the meantime, if you happen to be attending Origins Game Fair next week in Columbus, Ohio, you can check out the Fate MPC for yourself! Although Greater Than Games doesn't have an official booth at Origins this year, Chris and Darrell will be manning the Unpub Proto Zone in the First Look Room during the convention and will have their copies of Fate on them. Look for the tall guy with big angry dice on his shirt (that's Chris). Happy gaming!
